Following the Manchester City versus Leeds United game yesterday, we were joined by Tim Lees to discuss both coaches, their influence on the British game, and game models. The basis for the majority of our conversation was centered around a webinar that Tim did last year on 'Developing a Game Model with 70% Possession' that you can order here. I was keen to discuss different aspects of that webinar with Tim including positional profiles, session design, and communication of that game model throughout the week. We also had a panel of coaches in attendance who joined in with questions during the interview.
You can watch the full webinar below. Please subscribe to our YouTube page for more content.

This video was part of the launch of our new MSC eBook:Twenty Attacking Training Sessions, designed to help coaches connect the dots between philosophy, tactical flexibility and session design. The book contains twenty full session plans that are broken down into three phases: build-up, midfield progression, and goal-scoring. Each session will contain three exercises so there are 60 exercises overall! With his experience in the professional game as a coach and an analyst, Gary Curneen has designed these sessions to help bring out intensity, tactical understanding and game-like situations, that are enjoyable for both players and staff.
