Frederico Morais: Tactical Methodology

We were joined by Player and Coach Developer at Sarpsborg 08 and UEFA PRO Licensed coach, Frederico Morais, us to discuss ways that coaches can implement a tactical methodology at their clubs, as well as sharing his perspectives in the game. I've wanted to get Frederico on the podcast for a long, long time, ever since I watched his presentation on Inspire Coach Ed so I was really looking forward to this one. He has worked at the professional level in Italy, France, Portugal, England, and now Norwary, but is also a passionate student of the game. Hearing his perspective from taking a course taught by the great Vitor Frade and then explaining how his work has been misinterpreted by many, but also how that may have been intentional, was really interesting. A major takeaway from this interview was the level of flexibility that goes alongside the methodology. As Frederico explains Rui Faria's experiences on his Pro License, it is somewhat refreshing to hear that the methodology still has space for cultural differences and player preferences. I think this interview is a great message on how the theory and practice of coaching can be merged together by the passion of the coach, and how many opportunities that can potentially open up.
