This week we were joined by Joe Sheehan at Ipswich Town to share an insight into both the development pathway at their club, as well as their process of preparation when they faced Manchester City in the FA Cup last season. I loved this presentation for a couple of reasons. Firstly, it's really powerful to see a development pathway presentation that has such a clearly defined outcome with seven players in the starting line-up aged 18 or below. Secondly, I really enjoyed seeing how they prepared to play a top-class team in Manchester City and that tactical battle of being true to your beliefs and culture, but then also adapting to the strengths of the opponents. I really appreciated Joe's humility to admit the one or two areas that he felt that he made mistakes in the game itself and I think that is a great example to set for young coaches.
